Is it wrong that I like these more than all my heels lately? They make me feel 16 and I tend to adore anything that makes me feel (and look) like a kid. Growing up is for suckers!

the perfect fit

Even though most people that love clothes will probably tell you that they are willing to suffer for fashion I'm an avid believer that feeling good equals looking good, so I tend to go for comfy oversized pieces. Having said that, I must admit I'm a total sucker when it comes to skinny jeans (come on, aren't we all?) so in the rare occasion that I stumble upon a pair of super comfy skinnies that fit like a glove, I must have them! That is what went on over at Blanco some days ago. I was 'warned' about the great fit of their new denim line and naturally I was skeptical, but after trying over six pairs I saw what all the fuss was about. The soft denim hugs the body perfectly and makes you feel like you can live in them (and I kinda feel I do these past few days). I went home with two pairs, but I could easily buy all six, and they would sill cost less than what regularly spent on just one pair.

So, to the next one! Garnier was kind enough to send me their latest addition to their big family of products, the BB cream. As a person with notoriously problematic skin (and on a strict "drugstore face-creme diet" since high school) I must admit not having that much experience on store-bought face-cremes or any other store-bought cosmetic for that matter. So naturally I was a bit skeptic about this one too. But I'm not one to turn down a free sample without giving it at least a try, so try I did...for over a week in fact, and let me tell you I kinda liked it. The first thing I noticed was the smell, very fresh and stays with you all day. Then I discovered the fine texture. I applied it with my foundation brush easily, it hasn't got that much coverage but I used it along with some concealer and it gives a very natural, fresh looking effect to the skin.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good snowstorm as much as the next one but it's so f*ing hard to take outfit pics out there in the cold. Although I just bought a puffer jacket (my first one in years) and I would really like to make a post about it before it's to late. Anyhow this post is all about my new Blanco jeans which I adore. They have a very unique 80's wash, they fit like heaven (I'm very picky when it comes to jeans so this coming for me is really something), they are super comfy but most importantly they were super cheap (19.99!).

This little ensemble I put together for Christmas day with the family is my mother's worst nightmare. You see, my mother and I never see eye to eye when it comes to colors and textures. She likes everything paired nicely, worn in the right order and in the right season, when I basically don't have any rules on dressing up whatsoever. So when I showed up yesterday wearing grey wool tights under a orange-rather summery-skirt, a green sparkly sweater and a pair of purple earrings she was utterly confused. But to me, confusing people is half the fun of dressing up.

...you know, the Olympian god, the one with the wings on his feet, not the brand. Whenever I wear these shoes I feel like him. The only thing these shoes are missing is the ability to fly, apart from that, they simply are the perfect pair.

This is basically my every day uniform for Fall. It can't get much comfier than this. You gotta love Giuseppe for finding a way to keep a woman's feet warm, chic and blister free all at the same time. Also I love Donna Karan for "inventing" the best cardigan in the whole wide world, the cozy. The light knit makes it possible to carry around in my bag even though it's quite long. I wrap it around my neck as a scarf, layer it under jackets or even use it as a blanket while traveling. I don't think I've ever gone a week without using it since I bought it, five years ago. Watch here the many, many ways to wear the cozy.

The first time I watch a fashion show I tend mostly to look at the shoes. You could say I'm shoe-curious. Shoes can make or brake a show for me, that is why every season I wait with bated breath for the Ysl show. Stefano Pilati never fails to impress with his footwear. Extravagant, sky high and colorful, balancing between chic and just plain too much, just the way I like it. These past few seasons he was all about crazy heels, but this year he focused on the top part of the shoe and bedazzled the heck out of it. And there we have it, the shoe of the future (and by future I mean next summer).

Do you remember that sex and the city episode, where Carrie realizes how much money she had spent on shoes over the years, but couldn’t afford her apartment? Last summer I found myself lusting over this pair of high heeled 'chucks' but after listening to my friends who all looked at me like I was crazy for liking them, I decided not to act on my crush. After a while they went on sale so I thought 'what the hell' and bought them anyway. confessions of a lazy fashion blogger

So let’s face it, I’m totally unprofessional but I guess not really being a professional, it’s kinda ok...Or maybe not. The truth is I don’t have a good excuse for being away from blogging for so long. I was just lacking inspiration, felt stressed out and the more I pushed myself to come up with something post worthy, the more I didn’t like the end result. So I stepped away for a bit and tried to remember the reason why I started to blog in the first place. It was a way to free my mind, a way to express myself and get away from my everyday routine (aka job). I never wanted blogging to become a job and lately it sure felt this way. Every post for me with my limited editing skills, takes about four hours. That kind of spare time in the summer is rare cause all I want to do with my free time is lay on the beach with my friends and not worry about what to wear or if my hair looks ok. So there you have it, that is the whole truth behind my absence. I’m lazy! The funny thing is that as soon as I stopped stressing out and came to terms with my lost inspiration it all started to come back (the shoe shopping I did might have helped a little as well to be honest). So here’s what I’ve been up to for the last weeks:

1) Reading other blogs and ripping off their style…

...Karla's turban really stole my heart

2) Watching countless make up tutorials (gotta love those pixiewoo girls) and recreating some of them on me.

3) Watching enough ‘Friends’ episodes to bust the mood of a heavily depressed person.

I had forgotten all about this dress that used to be one of my favorites back in 2008. Browsing through all the pre-fall collections that are now flooding all online stores my summer clothes seem to have lost their appeal. This could prove really tricky as I'm about to leave for holidays and it's hard to pack bathing suits and flip flops when all I can think about is boots and jackets. Ok, I need to come to terms with the fact that we have 3 full months of summer ahead, stop whining and embrace the heat, but until then I leave you with a not so summery look and hope that you can forgive once more my long blogging absence.

Being a red hater my friends were extremely surprised when I showed up looking like this the other day. But what can I say, there is an exception to every rule! I apologize for disappearing for so long but I didn't feel like blogging these past few days. I hope you all had a fabulous holiday. I spent mine mostly at home with friends and family embracing everything traditional.

These past few weeks I've been living in maxi skirts of all kinds. I'm really in love with this particular one because it used to belong to my grandmother. I plan raiding her closet again real soon because there are so many treasures yet to be discovered.

This is a post I'm very excited about because it contains two of the best purchases I've done in a long time. The top caught my eye because of its colour but ultimately I think I fell in love with the shape (the longer length in the back is what makes this shirt for me). Bought it two sizes too big to enhance the oversized and droopy fit and couldn't stop wearing it during my trip. I'm sure it will be my ''go to'' item for spring. The small Bayswater was stuck on my mind for quite some time, so while I was in Athens I stopped by the Mulberry boutique determined to get my hands on the soft pink version. As that colour wasn't available in Greece yet, I ended up with the light brown one that I realized it was a better option for me anyway. Let's hope the fragile leather doesn't fall apart too soon. I added the furry tail not because it's by any means original (many other bloggers did it before me) but because I always wanted to.

I’m a huge sucker for leather jackets and when I saw Phillip Lim’s two toned one this past season I was hooked. Sadly, as it was way over my budget I gave up hope and almost forgot all about it. That was until I spotted a more reasonably priced similar version of the jacket at Uterque the other day and I obviously couldn’t leave it behind for a second time.

I’ve been meaning to post these shoes for so long but never got around to it. The truth is that even though I love them to death I don’t seem to wear them that often any more. But I have a feeling that’s about to change.

So today I’m wearing them with Mango leather pants, my sisters old blazer (not sure about the brand), Mulberry Bayswater bag and Morange lipstick from Mac that has to be my favorite shade of lipstick in years. Oh, and the shoes are by Moschino from 2006, poor babies got old!

I missed the warm light of a spring sunset captured on camera. Now that spring is finally kicking in I was in a travelling mood so I planned a little getaway for the end of next week. It's about time I had my airplane fix. Did I ever mention I'm a huge sucker for air travelling? I mean what's not to like? Airports are like big candy stores filled with luxury goods and beauty products, and please don't hate me on that but my favourite thing of all is the tiny tray of airplane food they serve during the flight. Admit it, you love to hate it! On the other hand I like all kinds of food so you cannot take what I think too seriously.

It's still pretty cold around here, and as you can see I found this the perfect opportunity to fur up again. As today was a really busy day all I wanted was to be worm and cozy (hence the boots again). Don't get me wrong I love a pair of sky high heels as much as the other girl but nothing is cozier than a pair of flat boots, and I must admit I feel kinda badass wearing them.

So, my prediction about the end of winter outfits was totally wrong as you can see. I believe today was the coldest day of the season here in Crete, it even snowed at some point (I crack up like a kid every time I see snowflakes) . Not being used to that much cold I ended up layering a leather and a fur jacket to keep me nice and worm.

The fur jacket is Vintage (my mother's) the leather one is from Zara, leather pants from Mango, Asos booties and Mulberry bag.

Have I ever mentioned Phillip Lim is one of my very favourite designers? Also, have I mentioned I'm a huge fan of golden bottoms of any kind? Saying all that I believe you can all guess how I felt when I laid eyes on these over the top pair of Phillip Lim pants. You may remember me wearing a similar shorter version during the summer.

This time I decided to go all 80's and pair them with this David Bowie tee I discovered in men's "last chance to buy" section of Zara, a jacket I stole from my sister, my favourite shoes by Givenchy and Kenneth Jay Lane star earrings.

This is probably one of my last winter outfits of the season as spring is finally here, at least theoretically. With this ensemble I'm embracing my inner five year old girl that tries to incorporate as many bows as possible in her outfit. Although as a child I was more of a rebellious tomboy, as a grown up I've come to like more and more romantic little pieces of clothing.

Have I mentioned I'm thrilled that mid-calf skirts are everywhere again? I'm such a fan of this length! It's the most flattering article of clothing a girl can wear regardless of her body type.

This weekend me and my girlfriends had a small getaway up in the mountains of Crete. It's always a pleasure getting out of the city, breathing fresh air and relaxing doing absolutely nothing. The place we stayed in is called Thalori (it means sea+mountains) and is a complex of traditional Cretan houses with breathtaking view. We spent the whole weekend playing games by the fireplace, drinking wine and eating great food. This is Crete at it's best!

Introducing the most comfortable outfit I've worn all winter. These shorts are my boyfriend's favourite. Most boys like their girls the most when they are in heals or dresses but that is not the case with J. He likes me best in these shorts and a pair of flip-flops in the summer. I find this really sweet. I wore them with another one of my dad's old jumpers and a pair of long gloves as it has been a bit cooler that usual these past few days.

I was determined not to go to H&M and stand in line for the Lanvin collection until I saw this dress up close in the store the night before. I finally got a chance to wear my new Alaia shoes. I ordered them from Yoox some time ago but they turned out to be really small so I had to send them back for a different size. I paired them with a wool puffy Vanessa Bruno skirt, a shirt I have since high school and a vintage leather men's hat. The hat was mostly to prevent the wind blowing all my hair in my face.

I remember looking at this fur coat when I was little and dreaming of wearing it one day, so a few months ago when I rediscovered it in my mothers old closet I thought that the time has finally come. Actually there's a cute story behind this furry extravaganza. When my mother got engaged to my father, right after she finished high school, her mother in law (being a fashionista of her time) decided it was a good idea to buy this coat for her. My mother that mostly dresses with jeans, snickers and t-shirts, didn't feel comfortable in it and only wore it once or twice. So now, over thirty wears later I'm wearing it even though it's a bit oversized for me but that never stopped me before.

I'm so sorry I haven't posted anything in almost a week but I have a really good excuse. While I was in Barcelona I stupidly forgot my camera charger in my hotel room and I didn't realize it until I got in the airport. The next day I e-mailed the hotel and they were kind enough to send it to me. Today it finally arrived along with the new lens I ordered over the weekend. So these are some pics we took after work, trying the new lens...fully charged :)

I was wearing my fathers old jumper, furry collar (gift from my mother from her trip to Bansko last Christmas), Uterque booties, and my old Stella McCartney bag that I only carry around when it's really cold.

Oh..did I mention it snowed here in Crete! Maybe Christmas will be white after all.

As soon as I laid eyes on this coat when I was in Barcelona I fell for it. I'm not really a coat person since it doesn't get cold here often, but for this one I had to make an exception. Immediately I imagined it would look perfect paired with gloves. So, as soon as I got home I dug out this really old pair I've had since I was 15. I had forgotten how much I love tall leather gloves, especially these light pink ones. They make any outfit look like it's straight out of an old movie.

The one thing I would definitely recommend to someone who is about to visit Barcelona is renting bikes and spending the day riding them by the sea. The port is amazing and so is the beach. Like a true island girl I cannot really love a place if it's not near the see and after seeing all this I can officially say, I'm in love with Barcelona! I'll be looking forward to my next visit.

Toi&Moi presents...the e-fashion store

When I received an email last week from TOI&MOI, inviting me to do a photo shoot with them for their new project I was thrilled. So I had to make a quick stop there before my trip to Barcelona last Saturday. The Greek fashion brand is launching an e-store in order to expand beyond the Greek boarders and they called us bloggers to model some of the clothes for the site. The garments were amazing so were the people and food over at TOI&MOI. You will get to see the final results in a few days when the e-store opens, but until then here is a little behind the scenes preview.

I'm considering whether to buy a bicycle or not for some time now. I live in a small city so it would be really convenient to use a bike for every day activities such as going to work or going downtown, after all I stopped using my car that much years ago, and instead I use the bus whenever I can. This is not solely for environmental purposes I must admit though. It's more about me being to lazy to drive through traffic (I prefer sitting back, relaxing listening to music, not caring about the craziness on the street). On the other hand I must admit I'm kinda scared about this bike thing. The roads here are in pretty bad shape and we barely have any sidewalks to walk on, let alone bicycle lanes...

Anyhow I think I'm gonna go for it, so I'm open to any suggestions about brands and stuff.

Lately I'm finding myself raiding my father's and boyfriend's closet. What is it about oversized men's clothes that make a woman feel so sexy? I believe it's the freedom of movement and the comfort that they provide, along with the fact that they look edgy and cool, that makes the girl wearing them extra confident. My love affair with men's shirts started way back, when I first saw an episode of Sex and the City, where Carrie wears Big's crisp white shirt with a belt (been trying to find a picture everywhere) and runs around town. I got this jacket as a birthday present from my mother (ordered from Mytheresa.com), and I've been wanting to do a post about it ever since. I'm so in love with the corkiness of it. It's like three jackets in one. When I first saw it I called it a military jacket, but then again it's a vest...finally when you turn around, it's a parka (Bat cape as my mother calls it). I believe this to be the coolest thing I own!

Ok, so I obviously suck at taking care of my lenses, and here are the results!! Let's hope you won't mind terribly and that you'll focus on the clothes.

I was experimenting the other day and here are the results. This thing I wear as a top is the skirt I wore on this post, which will officially be my staple piece for this winter (I also use to wear it in the summer as a dress...don't tell me you didn't see that coming). I'm obsessing with really versatile peaces once again, because I like wearing my clothes more than once. What's the point in buying something you really love and wear it only once after all?

"Stole" this plaid shirt from my boyfriend and I'm honestly not sure if I'll be giving it back.

I'm usually not a big fan of dressing up, but after seeing these exquisite costumes I must admit I got a bit jealous.

Thankfully, here in Greece we don't celebrate Halloween in October but in February, so I still have time to figure out what I'm gonna be.

Until then here's a taste of what I call 'costume heaven'.
